I met a new friend last week at Alaska’s Seward Harbor. I saw his boat name and had to ask, “So what was the miracle?”
Dave replied, “Me. I am Dave Miracle and miracles do happen!” I laughed, “Guess that’s true. What we need is a miracle in Washington! ”

AK 9458 AG FV "Miracles Happen"
“Ain’t that the truth, but I’m not running.”
So we chatted for a while about his boat, politics and the state of the state. Nice man. I guess you could say he’s a Miracle.

Seward Harbor
To live in Alaska and to fish out of Seward Harbor is a miracle in itself. Cast away all you thought you knew about Alaska, if you haven’t been to Seward you haven’t been to Alaska. Just spend a day out of Seward Harbor, into Resurrection Bay and beyond and you will see magical places and unforgettable wildlife, it will truly be a remarkable journey.

North American trumpeter swan, Cook's Inlet, AK
Daniel from Quebec passed through my life yesterday. It is sad that circumstances steal opportunities to know people whom you find interesting. This pleasant Canadian had a way that was sincere, honest and compelling but he had to leave before I could get an address or a photo. I try not to allow this to happen but alas sometimes it does.

Michael Berkey is a forest fire fighter. The sort of man you are certain could repair any break, ford any stream, pitch a tent in a windstorm, and keep you up ’til all hours telling adventure stories.
He is a resident of Alaska, has fought forest fires across North America, lives a most unique wandering lifestyle. He has a wonderful 1970 International truck converted to an RV, his sometime home.
He also has a home somewhere out in the Alaskan wilderness near Nome for the summer months and another home in Mexico on the Baja for the winter. A storyteller who obviously loves life. The kind of guy you are glad you met and hope to meet again so you can exchange just one more story.

Look before you pour…A wasp nest became a perfectly positioned cap for our trailer bathroom vent pipe. After trying gallons of different smell preventers: I tried a practical solution, logical thinking, and a ladder. Carefully I pushed a bent wire down the pipe and lifted it out in one piece. Fortunately, no one was home.

My Pal, Johnny Finsher is a cancer survivor I met at St. George Island in Florida. Several years ago he was given only months to live. He walks 3-5 miles a day, watches diet: healthy as a horse!
